Hello! Welcome to the Oolone blog, where we will keep you up-to-date with happenings at the office. Even when it’s sunny outside.
As you have hopefully gathered, Oolone is a visual search engine; we use visual technology to bring you interactive pictures or images of the websites you may – or may not – want to visit. We believe in choice and efficiency on the web. So we have combined the two.

As you can see, search results are displayed as images or pictures of sites. Just hovering over a site image that takes your fancy will enlarge it for you. So you don’t have to make the commitment of visiting the site, but can simply take a look. The example above shows you that the term ‘the shard’ will give you an indian restaurant, the building in London Bridge (official site), the building in london bridge (unofficial site), and a hotel called shard in Poulton Le Fylde, England. All of which have deliberately deceptive URL addresses and descriptions.
Our aim is to show you enough of the websites to know whether you want to visit or re-visit them. Businesses work so hard on their logo, image, design and lay out, yet regular search engines take this totally out of the equation.
You will hear much from us in coming weeks about visual memory and interaction. But one other aspect of Oolone that you should be aware of is that we also trust you. We trust that you know what you want, and that you don’t need monitoring like a child. So we don’t track what you search for. We just let you do it.
Happy searching. Please drop us an email with any suggestions for improvements!
Chris & Jon
